Our next concert features the delightful Ode to St Cecilia by Handel, and Charpentier’s superb Te Deum, both performed with a splendid baroque orchestra under the direction of Matthew Stuckings with soloists soprano Greta Claringbould, tenor Lachlan McIntyre, soprano Rachel Walker, and baritone Peter Laurence.

Finzi and Vierne with National Capital Orchestra – Sunday 22 June 2014

Igitur Nos Chamber Choir will join forces with the National Capital Orchestra on Sunday 22 June 2014 at 3pm for a grand concert at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Manuka.

The choir and orchestra will present the rarely-heard In terra pax by Gerald Finzi, with guest baritone Daniel Brinsmead and soprano Greta Claringbould. They will also give the Australian premiere performance of the orchestral version of Louis Vierne’s Messe Solennelle.

The programme also includes Ralph Vaughan Williams’s overture to The Wasps, the famous introduction to Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra, and Camille Saint-Saens’s delightful and majestic Symphony No. 3 (“Organ”). Christopher Erskine will play the majestic organ of St Paul’s Church.
